Having always lived her life with a “positive perspective”, she has combined this with her passion for helping people. Her company’s name is true to its word and her many clients can attest to the great quality of care and service it provides. Golden Home Care has become a successful, respected Home Care Provider, and Jackie’s reputation has been established as a leader in this field.

No matter what her clients’ challenges may be, or their age, her goal is to help people:

dawn

Dawn Robinson

Payroll & Bookkeeping Coordinator

Dawn has been with Golden Home Care since January 2019. She has a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Accounting, as well as a certification in Human Resources Management. After 20+ years in the corporate world, Dawn decided that she wanted to continue her career working with a locally based company where her skills could be used to help people in a meaningful way.

Dawn has a special place in her heart for seniors. She was the primary caregiver for both her mom and her aunt and is grateful that she was able to be there for them. When her mother was diagnosed with vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s, Dawn and her husband welcomed her into their home, where they cared for her for several years. This experience heightened her compassion for family caregivers and understands the importance of support and self-care for those facing such challenges.

During Dawn’s time at Golden Home Care, her dedication, attention to detail and commitment to customer service has been exceptional. These skills in addition to her belief and embracement of our Mission, Vision & Values make her an excellent and compatible part of our team.

tara

Tara O’Donnell - Currently on maternity leave.

Director of Operations & Development

Tara joined Golden Home Care in the spring of 2021. After graduating with a bachelor’s in accounting from Bishop’s University in 2015, she proceeded to get her designation as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) at McGill University in 2016.

After working in the corporate world for 5 years, Tara decided it was time to explore her entrepreneurial passion and combine her business experience with her desire to work with and help people.

As a student, Tara toyed with a few small business initiatives, as well as coached and tutored many adolescents, encouraging them to have confidence in themselves and achieve their full potential, thus discovering her interest in helping others. Tara’s corporate experience, as well as her commitment and interest in providing quality care, are an asset in her role as an active member of the Client Care Coordination Team and in the daily operations and development of the company.

Tara’s kind and gentle manner, combined with her strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, drive her to continuously support and care for our clients while finding the best way to develop strategic planning.

serena

Serena Stabile

Recreation & Care Coordinator

Serena is the newest member of our Golden Home Care team, joining in the Spring of 2022. She has always been involved in her community, which led her to study in the department of Applied Human Sciences at Concordia University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation.

Serena’s passion for helping others guided her through various professional ventures. She has worked as a Daycare Educator and as a Youth Services Coordinator with “at risk” youth. Most recently, Serena was employed as a Recreation Therapist, developing and implementing recreational programs for seniors and adults and then as a Coordinator for individuals living in a long-term care residence.

Serena particularly enjoyed working with seniors and appreciates learning about their life experiences through the wonderful stories they shared. She was responsible for planning and adapting meaningful activities for individuals with varying physical and cognitive abilities, that provided purpose and enhanced their quality of life. Serena has excellent interpersonal skills which were instrumental in leading and managing a team of staff and volunteers in workshops.

When the pandemic hit in 2020, she had to readjust very quickly. Her main goal was to put a smile on her residents’ faces while they were confined to their rooms and trying to navigate through the restrictions.

Serena’s background in leisure and recreation will complement our services and help us all learn how to elevate the quality of interaction and support that we can provide to our clients.

Serena has an optimistic attitude and kind heart. She is a firm believer that “the client comes first”, and she will treat them as one of her own family members to ensure they are receiving Golden Home Care.

Marcie Klinger

Care Coordinator

On November 1, 2022, Marcie Klinger joined our Golden Home Care team.

Marcie has worked with the senior population for 23 years. She enjoyed working for 18 years at the Cummings Centre as an Administrative Assistant primarily in the Volunteer Department.

After dedicating her time with seniors, she realized that her passion was to work with the aging population in homecare.

In 2017, Marcie transitioned and since has been working in the Home Care Industry as a Care Manager. During this time, Marcie evaluated the needs of her clients and coordinated appropriate care for them while developing wonderful relationships. She goes above and beyond to ensure quality of life for those needing support in home care, hospital, post-operative, or palliative care.

Marcie’s experience advocating for her father, in his later years, gave her the experience and knowledge required to navigate the healthcare system in Montreal. Marcie now applies those skills while assisting and guiding others. She displays extraordinary empathy, kindness, and professionalism. These traits are a huge asset while supporting families, relatives and friends who may be struggling to determine what is best for their loved ones.

Debbie Elvidge

Care Coordinator

We are delighted to announce that Debbie “Deb” Elvidge has joined our Golden Home Care team in March 2024.

Deb spent many years in the fitness world as an area manager for a national running store bringing their brand to Quebec and helping to establish premiere health events and expositions. In 2014 she left her position to help take care of her father and his health needs.

After Deb saw the wonderful treatment that was given to her father in his last months at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence she decided to go back to school and certify as a home care worker.  During her schooling in 2015 she became a caregiver at Golden Home Care and experienced first-hand what the role entailed.

Upon graduating she spent the next 6 years at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence; starting as a PAB working directly with patients and their families. She then transitioned to the fundraising and donations department helping to develop their fundraising and community events. For her final four years at the residence Deb was promoted to Volunteer Program Manager overseeing 300+ volunteers.  This role involved the recruitment, training, and scheduling of volunteers as well as communicating regularly with the entire team of nurses, social workers, and families to ensure the smooth operation of the program.

Deb's invaluable experience in these roles has contributed to her ability to understand our clients' health care needs and to help them and their families during vulnerable and challenging times, all the while liaising between all parties involved in the care planning. Deb’s empathy and compassion, combined with her caregiving (PAB) and leadership skills, will ensure our clients receive the great care they deserve. We are very excited to have Deb return to join our Golden Home Care team.
